Lisa Stone is passionate about moms, babies, and fitness, and her passion shines through, whatever she does. As the Founder and President of Fit For 2, Inc., Lisa Stone oversees the design of pre- and post-natal fitness programs for health clubs, hospitals, corporate fitness facilities, community centers, and military bases worldwide. A graduate of UCLA, she is now a nationally recognized spokesperson on pre- and post-natal fitness issues, having appeared on CNN; Good Morning, Texas; NBC, ABC, and CBS news affiliates throughout the U.S.; as well as numerous radio stations. She has also lectured for labor and delivery nurses, childbirth educators, and mothers-to-be regarding exercise during pregnancy and the post-partum period. She has been reviewed by and/or written numerous industry-related articles for both local and national publications such as Entrepreneur Magazine, Southern Living Magazine, World Health News, Fitness Magazine, Weight Watcher's Magazine, Body Impact Magazine (Japan), Prevention Magazine, Mirabella, and Shape Magazine. Ms. Stone is a certified fitness instructor through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and is one of only 75 ACE instructors worldwide who holds a specialty certificate in pre- and post-natal fitness. She has trained instructors in pre- and post-natal fitness and has taught numerous aerobics classes for pregnant and non-pregnant women throughout her 20+ year fitness career. As the Immediate Past-President of the Georgia Coalition for Physical Activity & Nutrition (www.G-PAN.org) - as well as the former Deputy Director of the Georgia Governor's Commission on Physical Fitness and Sports, Executive Board Member of the National Association for Health & Fitness, and Advisory Board Member of Friends for the East Cobb Park - Ms. Stone provides expertise and guidance to her state legislature and her community. Also, Ms. Stone was chosen as one of the "Forty Under 40" business people to watch by Georgia Trend magazine. In the fall of 1997, she completed an 8-city tour as co-host of the Easy Spirit National Fitness Forum with Bob Greene (Oprah Winfrey's personal trainer). She procured corporate sponsorship from Cheerios brand cereal for the Fit For 2 program in Atlanta as well as an endorsement from leading pediatrician and author of The Baby Book, Dr. William Sears. Most recently, she has been hired by Georgia State University and Maxwell Air Force Base to consult with and develop instructor training and fitness programs for their pre- & post-natal personnel. She is currently consulting with the University of Georgia on a federally-funded NIH study to determine the effects of exercise on back pain during pregnancy.
